What is this all about?

‚Äč

This past spring, over 70 members of the Marianist Family in Dayton gathered in the Madeleine Room at the Chaminade Center for the first round of conversation which focused on the future vision for the members of the Society of Mary, Province of the United States in relation to the signs of the times judged most significant for our future.

The Province Direction Statement Steering Committee has now synthesized and summarized this feedback given by our Dayton gathering and similar gatherings that took place in the Spring with members of the Marianist Family in other regions throughout the United States. The Steering Committee has distilled this feedback into provisional direction statements for your consideration and discussion.

This second round of conversation will focus on considering these provisional direction statements to guide the SM Province for the next five years. The Province Direction Statement Steering Committee will compile the results of the second round and present the consensus directional statements to the SM Provincial Chapter in March 2020.

All members of the Marianist Family are encouraged to attend this discussion, even if you did not attend the first round of discussion this past Spring.

If you would like to see the official letter from Bro. Bernie Ploeger, the Assistant Provincial of the SM Province of the United States, please see one of the PDFs below. He gives background about the process and issues a formal invitation to members of the Marianist Family to attend.

To review the synthesis of conversations and the provisional direction statements by the steering committee, please see the PDF below.

RSVP information is coming soon but please mark your calendars for this important conversation!
