Community Picnic and Wellness Fair

Saturday May 20, 2023
Noon to 3 p.m.
at Corpus Christi Church
527 Forest Avenue

Full of Grace Ministry, the Grandview Foundation, and Kettering Health Dayton will host a community picnic and wellness fair at Corpus Christi Church, which is part of Our Lady of Grace Parish, NE 8  parish family.

The event will feature picnic food and healthy snacks, as well as yard games in the courtyard on Forest Avenue, Meanwhile, in the church‘s Madonna Community Room there will be health screenings and wellness resources hosted by physicians and professionals from Kettering Health Dayton. They will conduct health screenings such glucose, blood pressure, dental, vision and more.

In the adjacent church sanctuary, several local choirs will be singing throughout the afternoon.

Our intention is to have the doors wide open so music flows out to the courtyard and invites neighbors to join us for an afternoon of fun and wellness, both physical and spiritual!

Why?

Full of Grace Ministry is a new, collaborative ministry of Our Lady of Grace Parish and the Dayton Marianist family. Our ministry is born of urban solidarity efforts over the past several years in the Five Oaks Neighborhood. This is our first event, and discernment is well underway for future programs and events!

You can support the event by:

Volunteering for a shift

Donating items for the event

Making a financial contribution

Join us in prayer for a successful event that serves our neighbors and community!

Gracious God and Father we come together in Dayton’s Five Oaks neighborhood as a
community of different faith backgrounds and traditions, countries of origin, and from
various parts of the Dayton area.

We come to get to know and appreciate each other and share our gifts and talents. We
come to create anew in the Five Oaks community.

We ask that your Holy Spirit guide us to cooperate and create a joyful spirit of building
relationships. Help us to develop a new social center where the past, present and future
residents of Five Oaks, and those of us from the whole Dayton area, form community
systems that build up this beautiful neighborhood.

We pray together, God, that you be present with us in safety, mutual sharing and much
joy. Gracious Father, send us your Spirit to bless this day and our work. Amen!
